A collection of Dame Elizabeth Taylor’s fashion, artwork and jewellery has sold for nearly £120 million at auction.
More than 1,800 lots went under the hammer at sales in New York and London with a Vincent Van Gogh painting, ‘Vue de l’asile et de la Chapelle de Saint-Remy’ – which had been hanging in the late actress’ home until her death in March 2011 – fetching over £10.1 million
Elizabeth’s art collection beat its pre-sale valuation of £9 million to sell for nearly £14 million in the auction, which culminated in a sale of artwork at Christie’s auction house in London last night (08.02.12).

Nick Cannon is out of the hospital after going through an operation for mild kidney failure.
31-year-old Cannon was on holiday with his wife Mariah Carey in Aspen when he was admitted to hospital.
The Americas Got Talent host posted on his account “Just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure. #OUCH.”
“Please pray for Nick as hes fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure,” 41-year-old Carey .

The number 10 has been a hot digit on the Cape Fear dining scene.
Four Wilmington restaurants midtown’s Indochine, downtown’s Caprice Bistro and Le Catalan and Lumina Station‘s Port Land Grille all celebrated a decade in business within the past year. Longevity, however, does not guarantee continued success.
After 28 years in business, Wilmington’s Mai Tai, 4121 Oleander Drive, closed on Oct. 30.
For many years, Mai Tai was an Asian buffet.
