Steps have been given a second reality TV series.

The 90s group – made up of Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Lisa Scott-Lee, Lee Latchford-Evans and Ian ‘H’ Watkins – originally reunited for a Sky Living documentary last year and it was such a success that producers have commissioned another run of the show.

‘Steps Reunion’ will follow the band at dance and vocal classes, costume fittings and on the road as they deal with the pressure of touring the country again as a group.

Sky Living director Jane Johnson said: “We were all hooked on ‘Steps Reunion’ as we watched the band talk candidly about one of the biggest pop fall-outs in recent history.

“So we’re thrilled to be giving our customers the opportunity to follow them on the next leg of their journey – their huge comeback tour.

“The twists and turns as they balance intense rehearsals with their busy family lives promise to be equally compelling.

But there’s a lot more that unifies the five filmmakers who recently came together at the Los Angeles Times for the third annual Envelope Directors’ Roundtable.

For one thing, their movies are being hailed for standing among this year’s Oscar contenders: Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo,” Alexander Payne’s “The Descendants,” Michel Hazanavicius’ “The Artist,” Stephen Daldry’s “Extremely Loud Incredibly Close” and George Clooney’s “The Ides of March.” It’s no recent fluke, either: Total all of their past Oscar nominations (19) and wins (three), and you’ve got five of the town’s heaviest hitters.

And Tuesday, Hazanavicius, Payne and Scorsese were among the five directors nominated for the 84th annual Academy Awards, to be presented Feb.
