LONDON — Daniel Radcliffe will miss being an action hero. Emma Watson will miss being a role model. Robbie Coltrane will simply miss getting to play a good guy.

The cast and crew of the “Harry Potter” movies have been saying goodbye to their characters on the eve of the premiere of the eighth and final film in the magical adventure series.

When they met the press at a valedictory news conference Wednesday, it felt like the last day of school — a warm mixture of release and regret.

Radcliffe, Watson and Rupert Grint have grown up in the films over the past decade, playing young wizards Harry, Hermione and Ron as they progress through Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and fight the dark forces of Lord Voldemort.

Watson said was it is still “difficult to process” the fact that she won’t be playing Hermione again.

The 21-year-old said she would miss the brave, brainy young witch, who was not just a role but a role model.

The nerds had their revenge at the movies, but the geeks are out to rule SPACE.

We made fun of them in high school, but geeks are definitely on the rise in pop culture, according to Fanboy Confessional, a six-part TV series of 30-minute documentaries premiering on SPACE on July 13.

Fanboy Confessional is an affectionate look at the subcultural passion for things like steampunk, cosplay (costume play-acting), and live-action role playing, or LARP.

Toronto’s Markham Street Films shines a light on many North American movements that attract thousands of followers and are growing fast.

“It used to be, if you were called a fanboy, it was a pejorative term,” said writer and director Michael McNamara, who grew up in Windsor, Ont.

He wanted to cook his food, his way.

And it won him the title of Top Chef Canada for its inaugural season on Food Network Canada.

The competition was hard, chef Dale MacKay says, but all that effort has landed him $100,000, a GE Monogram kitchen worth $30,000 and the right to call himself the country’s first Top Chef.

“I could give you tons of flowery spiels,” he said on the phone from his Vancouver restaurant, Ensemble, on Monday. And then he put it succinctly: “It was amazing.”

According to the Daily Mail, the minor danced and sung on stage with “a swarm of topless girls”, and at one point another fan groped her breasts. While other female celebrities are often criticized for being overly provocative at times, Taylor is underage.

However, the Roman Catholic raised teen, has denied that she dresses for herself and doesnt do it to be provocative, even though she sacked her stylist because she was unhappy with the squeaky-clean look they had been developing, the Daily Mail adds.
